An Interdisciplinary Early-Career Research Initiative at Jordan University College, Morogoro
JUCo DSRG is an interdisciplinary research initiative focused on data science, statistical analysis, and mathematical modelling. We train researchers, develop analytical capacity, and generate research that supports evidence-based decision making for Tanzania and beyond.
As a supportive research community, we help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world analytical practice. Participants work in collaborative teams, receive mentorship, learn modern analytical tools, and contribute to meaningful research projects addressing institutional, health, and development challenges.
The JUCo Data Science & Mathematical Modelling Research Group conducts interdisciplinary research aligned with global development priorities, evidence-based policymaking, and data-driven institutional strengthening.
Institutional Modelling focuses on planning, resource allocation, educational quality, and sustainable growth within higher education systems.
Health and Wellbeing Modelling focuses on public health, resilience, wellbeing, and equitable access to services through quantitative research and analytical methods.
Hands-on R and Python programming, data analysis, and visualization.
Learn statistical and mathematical approaches to solving real problems.
Participate in genuine research projects with practical impact.
Improve scientific writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Receive guidance from mentors and build a strong peer network.
Prepare for postgraduate studies and data-driven careers.
